World Wide Knit in Public Day

Join us on Saturday, June 16th on the front porch of Six Loose Ladies shop to show the world what knitting looks like! Crocheters welcome too.

World Wide Knit in Public Day is the largest Knitter run event in the world. It started in 2005 and is now celebrated in 57 different countries.

What to bring:
Your fancy hat (or not, your choice), your latest project, and a lawn chair. We'll supply snacks and drinks.

Backup plan: We'll meet inside the shop in case of foul weather.

Not a knitter? Not a problem. We will have yarn and needles on hand to teach anyone who wants to learn.

Fiber Bowl

Fiber Bowl

Super Bowl not your thing? How about Fiber Bowl, a gathering for those who appreciate sheep's wool more than pigskin.

Cast-On will commence at 1:00 p.m.

We will provide a hearty soup lunch, and, of course, dessert because, hey, it's us, right? We'll also have gifts for everyone - that's just how we roll.

You are welcome to work on your own project or participate in making a literal fiber bowl  - either woven or wet felted.

And we'll finish up by 4:00 - just in case you like pigskin too.

Distaff Day
12:00 PM12:00

Distaff Day

In many European cultural traditions, women resumed their household work after the twelve days of Christmas, on Distaff day. The distaff, or rock, used in spinning was the medieval symbol of women's work.

Women of all classes would spend their evenings spinning on the wheel. During the day, they would carry a drop spindle with them.

Spinners will gather at Six Loose Ladies on Sunday, January 7th from 12-4 for an informal celebration.

The spin-curious are welcome to come try their hand.

Spinning Fibers will be 20% off.
